Grand Pre, Nova Scotia

Grand-Pré or (Great Meadow) is an unincorporated community located in Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada. The community lies in the Annapolis Valley a few kilometres to the east of the town of Wolfville. Grand Pré was founded by Acadians settlers which travelled east from Champlain's original settlement in Annapolis Royal in 1680. where they remained until their expulsion during the Great Upheaval, which began in 1755.

For over three hundred years, the village of Grand Pre has provided a home for immigrant farmers and artisans.

Today, Grand Pre is the home of a growing number of artisans as well as a National Park and a variety of tourist facilities.

Sir Robert Laird Borden, the eighth Prime Minister of Canada, was born in Grand Pré.
