Grand Duke Michael Nicolaievich of Russia

Grand Duke Michael Nicolaievich of Russia (October 13, 1832 - December 18, 1909) was the fourth son and seventh child of Tsar Nicholas I of Russia and Charlotte of Prussia.

He served for a long time as the Governor General of Russian provinces of Transcaucasia, being seated in Tbilisi which town his most children remembered as the home of their childhood. His life saw as many as four of his family being Emperors of Russia: Nicholas I, Alexander II, Alexander III and Nicholas II (all of whom he served loyally) - and he outlived his nephew Alexander III, a much younger man.

On August 16, 1857 he married Princess Cecily of Baden (1839-1891, daughter of grand duke Leopold I of Baden and Sophie of Sweden), who adopted the name Olga Fedorovna, and with whom he had the following children:
