Grand Duchess Helena Vladimirovna of Russia was born on the 17 January 1882 at Tsarskoe Selo.
Helena Vladimirovna was the daughter of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich of Russia (22 April 1847 – 17 February 1909) and Duchess Marie Alexandrine Elisabeth Eleonore of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

Her paternal grandparents were Emperor Alexander II of Russia and his wife Empress Maria Alexandrovna (née Princess Marie of Hesse and by Rhine). Her maternal grandparents were Friedrich Franz II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, and Princess Augusta Reuss of Köstritz.

Helena married His Royal Highness Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark (22 January 1872 Athens - 8 February 1938 Athens), the third son of King George I of the Hellenes and Queen Olga (Olga was a daughter of the Russian Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolayevich and Alexandra Iosifovna) on the 29 August 1902 at Tsarskoe Selo.

- Her Royal Highness Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark (1903 - 1997), later Princess Olga of Yugoslavia
- Her Royal Highness Elizabeth (1904-1955), later Countess of Toerring-Jetternacht
- Her Royal Highness Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark (1906 - 1968), later Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent

Princess Nicholas died on 13 March 1957, in Athens, Greece.
