Grafik Warfare

Grafik Warfare is a street art collective based in Brighton, UK. Its members include 'Snub', 'Hutch', 'FK', 'Defacto', 'Beth' and 'What What', although some members are based outside Brighton. The work of Grafik Warfare has become particularly prominent throughout Brighton and Hove town centres since early 2005, especially since the recent proliferation of sticker art.
In parallel with the political nature of street art, the group is democratic, operating in an anarcho-syndicalist manner, with individual members electing to lead specific projects depending on their area of interest or expertise. Their homepage functions in a similar manner to Wikipedia, in that it is fully editable by all members of the collective.
The group held its first exhibition, the 'Outside In' show, which featured as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival, in May 2005. Featuring international contributions, the theme was 'Bringing Street Art Home'. This show was followed by 'Still Living Life', an exhibition held aboard the MS Stubnitz ship in Amsterdam in August 2005. Art from this show was also shown at Hoxton Works, London, in December 2005.
The group has featured in Failed Rockstar magazine, The Pulse magazine, the first International Sticker Awards book, Digit magazine, Bloodwars magazine and Computer Arts Projects magazine.
Although described as a loose collective of 'street artists', Grafik Warfare has members working in all media: paint, ink, stickers, screenprint, stencils and new media. They do work on canvas, cardboard, MDF, walls and computers. Grafik Warfare doesn't have a single ethos, but revels in different styles, backgrounds and influences, while staying strictly equal.
