grade 8 are a four-piece nu metal/rap metal music group originiating from Los Angeles, California.

grade 8 formed in 1996 in the Los Angeles area. They signed with Lava Records in 2002, and released their self-titled debut album grade 8 on February 11, 2003. The band also appeared at Ozzfest that same year.
On August 13, 2006, it was reported that the band had been dropped off the remainder of the Ozzfest tour, as their label withdrew their tour support. At the time, their album had sold 9,840 copies.[1] Shortly after the band was dropped.
On August 10, 2004, the band released their second album Resurrection via "Sound Barrier Records".
The band is currently working on their third album, expected to be released late 2006.
