Talk:Governorate

Do not merge!, would break arab subdivision series. guberniya is seperate as well.
I am also against a merge, as governorate is closer to the term in Ukrainian and Russian than muhafazah. Merging would create very weird references and correlations for those reading about Ukrainian or Russian geography or history that are not correct. If merging, I would suggest carefully going through all the linking pages and removing links that no longer make sense. -- mno 19:11, July 18, 2005 (UTC)
- To add, at this point, this article seems like a disambiguous entry linking to the more relevant ones. In my opinion, this is a correct, and good way, to do it. Most articles will link to the correct and relevant entry from this page in the first place. -- mno 19:11, July 18, 2005 (UTC)
Keep. In the process of disambiguating links referring to Arabic, I have run across this term several times. Most of these links refer to Arab countries. If someone were to research this, it might turn out that this governorate refers largely to Arab countries. DanMS 21:24, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
