Governor-General of French Indochina

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Governor-General of French Indochina (French: Gouverneur-général de l'Indochine Française) was the head of the French colonial system in Indochina. The first Governor-General was Ernest Constans (18871888) and the last was Jean Decoux (19401945)[1] [2]. During World War II, Japanese Governor-Generals briefly replaced the French until the position was abolished.
