English: Maurycy Gottlieb (1856--1879). Jews Praying in the Synagogue on Yom Kippur. Vienna. 1878. Oil on canvas. 96 1/2 x 75 1/2 in. (245.1 x 191.8 cm.) Tel Aviv Museum of Art. The artist's self portrait is standing to the right of the seated rabbi, looking outwards. The inscription on the Torah scroll says "Donated in memory of our late honored teacher and rabbi Moshe Gottlieb of blessed memory 1878." The artist has depicted himself and his wife at various stages of life. All of the men in the painting are of the author at different ages and similarly the women are all of his wife. From Jewish Art, edited by Grace Cohen Grossman, ISBN 0-88363-695-6, page 199. Copied with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel with EF 50mm f/1.8 mounted on a copy stand at the UConn art department. ISO 100, f/8, 1/15s. The image was then cropped and level-adjusted with Gimp and saved with a JPEG quality of 0.95.

Umělcův autoportrét stojí vpravo od sedícího rabína a dívá se ven. Nápis na Tóře říká: „Věnováno památce našeho pozdě oceněného učitele a rabína Moshe Gottlieba 1878.“ Umělec se ztvárnil sebe a svou ženu v různých stádiích života. Všichni muži v malbě jsou on v různém věku a všechny ženy jeho manželka. Z Jewish Art od Grace Cohena Grossmana, ISBN 0-88363-695-6, p. 199. Kopie pořízena Canon EOS Digital Rebel s EF 50mm f/1.8 na oddělení umění UConn. ISO 100, f/8, 1/15s. Výsledný obrázek byl pak ořezán a vylepšen pomocí Gimpu a uložen s JPEG kvalitou 0,95.
