For this album, Curtis Mayfield reigned in the orchestral dramatics of his soundtrack work and emphasized his guitar playing. While it did not sell as well as contemporaneous soul albums such as Let's Get It On or Fulfillingness' First Finale, it at least kept Mayfield in the game.
