Gosforth High School is located in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. The school is for students aged 13 to 18. GHS is a Language College and a Beacon School and has won many other awards. There are about 1,600 students in attendance.

The school was formed in 1973 by the merger of two secondary modern school's with Gosforth Grammar School. Between 2000 and 2002 the school buildings were renovated, and the new facilities were opened by the Prime Minister Tony Blair on the 29th November 2002.[1] In 2004 one of the eldest buildings, the West wing, was demolished after the completion of the new facilities.

The school's emblem is comprised of 3 main parts: the tree of growth and knowledge, the badge of Newcastle city and the Northumberland coat of arms. The school's motto is "High Achievers".

Footballer Alan Shearer recently donated £10,000 to his alma mater from the proceeds of a series of testimonial events held to honour his ten years playing for Newcastle.[2]
