The Gorokhovaya Street seen towards the Admiralty

Gorokhovaya Street (Russian: Горо́ховая у́лица) is a north-south thoroughfare in the Central Business District of Saint Petersburg.

Gorokhovaya Street extends from the Admiralty and runs south, crossing the Moyka River and the Griboyedov Canal, crossing the Garden Street near Sennaya Square. Running south, crossing Fontanka River, it's home to the Semenovsky Bridge. The street ends at Zagorodny Prospect.

Gorokhovaya Street is one of central Saint Petersburg's major thoroughfare. The street is home to the Briantsev Youth Theatre, one of the first professional children's theatre in Russia, opened in 1922.

The nearest metro stations is Sennaya Square and Pushkinskaya.

Rodion Raskolnikov, the main character of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, lived in an apartment house at Gorokhovaya Street.

The former name of this street is "Dzerzhinsky Street", named after Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky.
