Gopalkrishna Gandhi

Gopalkrishna Gandhi (born April 22, 1945) is the governor of West Bengal since 2004. He is the youngest grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, and son of Devdas Gandhi and Laxmiben Gandhi. His maternal grandfather was Rajaji C. Rajagopalachari. Gopalkrishna Gandhi is the younger brother of Rajmohan Gandhi and Dr. Rammohan Gandhi, both of whom are distinguished in their own right.

President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam made the appointment following the expiry of the term of office of incumbent Viren J. Shah.

Shri Gopalkrishna Gandhi graduated with a master's degree in Literature from St. Stephen's College of Delhi University. He has authored one novel and a play.
