The Commons category structure is under a major rewrite at the moment see Commons:User:Nilfanion/TC Cats. With a typical storm which is current the only cats needed are the storm category for that storm and the appropriate image type - NASA MODIS for example. I know full well the older images will need sorting (I'm not looking forward to it). However, its a much needed task. Good job on doing the stuff, expanding the image descriptions on so on. Just make sure that the image goes in the appropriate seasonal category, when it calms down it should be easier to follow :)--Nilfanion (talk) 21:58, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Apologies for the inconvenience, if you concentrate on improving images descriptions sourcing and the like you should avoid getting in the way.--Nilfanion (talk) 22:03, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Careless updates
Good point, Kitty, I have greyed out the image parameters in the spreadsheet to remind me not to overwrite them. Also the sectnum parameter where there is also a danger of wrong reversions. Apologies.--Keith Edkins ( Talk ) 17:00, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

I see you have reverted my scaled-down version of this to the super-colossal original. The reason I reduced it is that the Wiki servers seem unable to automatically scale the full-size version. I now see a red cross wherever the image is used. I would have thought 2000 x 2700 was more than enough for Wiki purposes, given that there is a pointer to the site where the full-size original can be found, and that the full-size version doesn't seem to work anyway...--Keith Edkins ( Talk ) 20:46, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- I hope you have noticed that raw NASA images fail frequently enough. I've uploaded another massive version over the top, it should work now (its twice as large though :/). Don't have a little fight on that image, it takes too much effort to clean up after you :P--Nilfanion (talk) 21:24, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Commons Vandal
Yeah, I have crossed that IPs path a few times... I've rolledback all the easier ones but the more complex ones will probably last a bit longer. Thanks for the head-up. Probably best to poke me on commons not here though on that kind of thing ... ;)--Nilfanion (talk) 21:50, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hi
Good work on that 2005/06 Southern Hemisphere season page. If you won't mind, I hope you can load up images for the 1999-00 Southern Hemisphere tropical cyclone season article please, since I have already put up those fancy infoboxes. Ta. RaNdOm26 18:09, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Outstanding images!!! RaNdOm26 04:06, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

I can't make the track map for that depression at this time - the NHC data contains an error; I cannot correct it as that would be OR.--Nilfanion (talk) 08:00, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I have no idea how the talk didn't get moved. --Coredesat 20:40, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
