My talk page info:
- Anything is welcome here, thanks, complaints, requests, personal attacks. Well, those aren't really welcome, but they won't be removed. They just make you look bad. Only reverts I will do are for vandalising other peoples' comments.
- Where will I reply: I will generally reply on your talk page for anything that requires further conversation or which it is important that you actually see. If it is something minor, like "thank you!" it'll just be here. After the end of a conversation, (or in the middle, if I get around to it), I will copy any parts appearing only on your talk page to mine, for ease of finding later.

[edit] The David Tench program
Sorry mate :( It looks like the virdict is leaning towards keep, and even it did come out as delete I think it would be incredulous for it to be deleted, a show of this style with American celebrities actually appearing in it.
Can't win them all, eh. JayKeaton 13:55, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- It's nothing personal, I don't mind it being kept if it should be. In fact my last comment was that some of it should be kept, once I learned that the article of the show had been deleted too. Seems that, at least, is notable enough. -Goldom ‽‽‽ ⁂ 21:57, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Daniel.Bryant's RfA
Thank you for participating in my RfA! I withdrew at (2/7/2) because I realised that I made a misjudged action by accepting the nomination so soon after a couple of edits which I whole-heartedly regret. I invite you to take the opportunity to read an explanation I gave for those diffs. In no way am I defending my actions, as I now realise they were wrong, but I still feel that if you understand the reasons I have given both with my withdrawal statement, as well as my RfA talk page, we may be able to travel the path of understanding. Should I have just redirected the article? I wasn't exactly sure what to do, but I figured deleting it would solve the problem. -FateSmiled&DestinyLaughed 00:17, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I made it into a redirect because it is at least a probable typo (capitalizing the title), so this way someone typing that will just end up at the right place, and it will also keep it from being recreated when the article already exists at the target. -Goldom ‽‽‽ ⁂ 00:20, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: 911TM template
I had created a good faith project on 9/11 Truth, but people assumed i was up to no good and voted to shut it down after it had existed for 40 minutes. Notably, they did not state anything wrong with the content of the project, they only objected to me being the one that created it. So the project is no more, and neither is the template. --Striver 01:13, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Also Thanks
Thanks for deleting the articles relating to the fictional Doloja. It was really suspicious at first, especially due to the user who wrote the articles (emperor of doloja) as a vanity page. The supposed emperor's name returned 0 hits on google though. Thanks anyway. - SpLoT 11:27, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry to say but Doloja is not fictional but merely a micronation, so please do not say slanderous comments. I was informed my article did not have notibility thus was reasonably promptly deleted.

Hello Goldom,
The consensus on the Image talk:We Can Rebuild Him.jpg is that this image should be deleted since we don't have persmission to use it and no articles link to it. --Loremaster 11:54, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] B&W Anime Fan
I just wanted to get someone's opinion on this, since I'm just a brand new admin, and I saw you'd been dealing with him too... at first I'd blocked him for 24h, since he had had real edits in the past. Then after he was spamming his userpage about WoW I changed it to indef. All things considered, it's pretty clear he isn't really WoW, and does seem to want to come back a lot. Should I change it back to another 24/48hours or something, and give him another chance before making it perminant? -Goldom
- Unblocking should be ok, I had a quick look and I guess he's made reasonable edits in the past. I would either (a) Unblock completely or (b) reduce the block to expire the same as the original block. (Can't remember how long that was or if it has already expired), but either way make sure he knows that he is on a tight leash. --pgk(talk) 22:03, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

- Hi again, today B&W is claiming he is still blocked, even though it should have expired about 14 hours ago. I tried re/un blocking him manually to fix it, but I have to leave now and won't be around to see if he's still saying it didn't. So if you're around, if you could check and see, that would be good. Thanks. -Goldom ‽‽‽ ⁂ 18:36, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Jeffrey Jordan
I've added a prod tag to the Jeffrey Jordan article, however, I'm curious what you find asserts notability in there? He plays for an AAU basketball team (AAU standing for Amateur Athletics Union) which is not notable, so his only claim to notability is being the son of Michael Jordan, but I thought we had a policy somewhere that notability isn't hereditary...or am I imagining that? I think I saw that once somewhere...maybe in regards to the brother of John Kerry or something. I'm just looking for clarification because I thought I had seen that as a policy/guideline/suggestion/rule of thumb somewhere. Thanks, Metros232 00:41, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, between those two things, it seemed it was at least claiming he is of some importance, which is enough to not be speedy deleted. Whether he is actually notable or not would be the decision of the prod/afd. It's borderline, I guess, but there's also a chance some may want to merge info with his father's article. -Goldom ‽‽‽ ⁂ 00:44, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo - Shinken
Man, that was a fun article name to type in manually.
Hi -- you certainly had good reason to remove my {{db-author}} tag from the article in question, and it probably is unnecessary with the {{prod}} in place. However, the author did blank the page at one point -- doesn't that make it qualify for the author tag? -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 23:55, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- You're right, sorry, I didn't check to see if he had blanked it, just saw it wasn't him tagging. Looks unlikely to survive a prod at any rate, and he blanked again after I removed it, so I have now deleted it. Thanks for pointing that out. -Goldom ‽‽‽ ⁂ 23:58, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Totally cool. Oh, look -- it's already a redlink. I love that.
- Sorry to bug you, by the way -- I was actually gonna put comments to this effect in an edit summary, but then the article started receiving constant edits so I gave up and took it to a more stable page. Have a good one! -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 00:00, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Contributors who have literature (books, magazines, links, etc.) are especially needed to provide the necessary citations. Again, the issue of the month is inline citations. A Day in the Life, A Hard Day's Night (song), and Get Back have all been defeatured, as they failed to satisfy criterion 1(c) of What is a featured article?, and other song FAs are due for the chopping block. Inline citations are an important aspect of articles—they ensure verifiability and reliability, and they remove original research. Additionally, they give readers the option to read the original source material and view it within context. Basically:
|
Wherever possible, editors should help to trim down on list-like prose within Beatles articles. They should convert list-like sections into fluent, cohesive prose which ties an article's sections together. Lists make articles disjointed, awkward, and difficult to read. Be sure to take part in the Featured Article drive, and don't forget those inline citations! If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. WikiProject The Beatles Newsletter |

Wikipedia's standards are improving all the time, with the result that many articles in The Beatles Wikiproject are being nominated for review of their FA and GA status - and many are losing that accolade. It is difficult, with such a large number of articles and the ease with which editors may make changes which are detrimental, to maintain the standard of articles, let alone improve them. As ever, members efforts are both appreciated and needed to keep the Project on course.
|
If one is to be mercenary about the subject, it should be noted that Paul McCartney is going to be more noteworthy than usual in the near future as his divorce case comes to court. In that case it is great to note that a small group of Project Members (plus another individual who does not feel compelled to register himself despite important contributions) have worked very hard, and in an atmosphere of good humour, to take the McCartney piece to a succesful Good Article nomination. Perhaps this is the method to use for future articles, a small dedicated team concentrating on one subject at a time. Of course, all members are invited to join any existing group or even go about forming their own. Please note any such action in the Project Log. If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired.
