Acamptopappus is a genus in the family Asteraceae, native on deserts of the southwest of North America. The name is derived from a- (not), campto- (bent), and pappus (down).
Acamptopappus species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Coleophora acamtopappi which feeds on A. sphaerocephalus.
