Golden Screen Cinemas

Golden Screen Cinemas is the largest chain of cinemas in Malaysia. The biggest cinema is located in Mid Valley Megamall. It houses an 18 screen cinema and has 2899 seats, the most in Malaysia.

There are altogether 18 GSC's in Malaysia including East Malaysia. This includes Mid Valley Megamall, 1 Utama, Berjaya Times Square, Summit USJ, Cheras Leisure Mall, IOI Mall, Selayang Capitol, Shaw Centrepoint, Terminal 1 in Seremban, Mahkota Parade in Malacca, Berjaya Megamall in Kuantan, Pelangi Leisure Mall and Summit Batu Pahat in Johor, Plaza Bukit Mertajam and Gurney Plaza in Penang, Cental Square in Sungai Petani, Ipoh Parade in Ipoh and GSC in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah.

The earliest GSC to operate in Malaysia is the GSC in Kota Kinabalu. It commenced business on 14 July 1981. The latest addition to the GSC chain in Malaysia is 1 Utama (New Wing) in Petaling Jaya. It commenced business on 23 June 2005.

The GSC in Gurney Plaza is the first multiplex outside the Klang Valley and the first to house a Premiere Class screen followed by Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur. Mid Valley and 1 Utama house Gold Class screens.

There are also international movies shown in selected GSC cinemas. Currently, there are only 3 International Screens in Malaysia. They are in Mid Valley, 1 Utama and Gurney Plaza.

Tickets are sold at a reasonable price. The tickets only cost RM8. It costs RM9 during weekends. GSC offers a "Special Wednesday Rates" on Wednesdays. The tickets cost only RM6 on that day. Tickets for Premiere and Gold Class are more expensive as patrons are served by GSC staffs in these sreens.

All GSC cinemas has concessions that sells popcorn, soft drinks and other snacks that are all halal. A movie experience in GSC will be an unforgettable one as there are 3 Glitter café and gift shop in Mid Valley, 1 Utama and Gurney Plaza where one can purchase their own merchandise.
