Goca Božinovska

Gordana "Goca" Božinovska (Гордана "Гоца" Божиновска) (born 16 January 1965 in Western Serbia, Yugoslavia) is a Serbian Turbo-folk singer.

Gordana Božinovska was born on a train between the towns of Kraljevo and Čačak. She grew up in a family of four: father, mother, sister and herself. She lived in the village of Samaila in the heart of Šumadija. Her father was originally from Devdelija, hence her name. She completed her secondary education in Kraljevo where she also made her first musical appearance with the Abrasevic culture group. After her studies, she moved to Belgrade where she also lives today. Together with Vesna Zmijanac, she started to sing in the restaurant "Lipovački cvet" Because of her good voice and attractive looks she soon became acquainted with Šaban Šaulić, and performed at his concerts. In 1984, she gave birth to her first daughter Jelena and then took a break from her musical career. She recorded an album with Halid Muslimović and was back in the music business. Two years later, she was touring with other famous singers. She met her future husband in 1987, from whom she gave birth to second daughter Zorana, and son Mirko. She took another break but this time for eight years. Following the divorce of the couple she made a comeback in 1995. Today, she lives in Surčin, Belgrade.
