Goatsnake
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Goatsnake is an American doom metal band, formed from the ashes of The Obsessed. Their sound is definitely in the doom camp, although their very slow, heavy songs (e.g. "Raw Curtains") are countered by more stoner-esque songs such as "Live To Die". As well as ex-members of The Obsessed, they also feature Greg Anderson who plays in the drone metal band Sunn O))). Previously, Anderson has played in Thorr's Hammer, Burning Witch, Engine Kid (mid 90s heavy indie rock), as well as late 80's Seattle straight edge unit Brotherhood. Peter Stahl was in Wool and before that, played with his brother Franz Stahl in mid 80's Washington DC hardcore band Scream.
