Neo-Nazism RFP

Hi, the user that has caused the problems is actually User:NovaNova (who doesn't actually have an Wikipedia account). He has also used the anonymous IPs: 63.40.232.172, 2006 63.40.232.71 and 63.40.232.77.Spylab 14:15, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

That other IP that you left a message on didnt' do anything particularly bad; the content in that small edit was merely an unimportant diversion to the topic at hand. That's why I removed the message you posted on that IP's talk page. The user that I mentioned above is the one that needs warnings. Spylab 14:15, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for keeping an eye on that article. I suspect that the person will eventually be back to revert the disputed section. Spylab 15:26, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

User:NovaNova has returned to make the same revert, and again falsely accused me of vandalism. That user has also made a regressive edit to the Ante Pavelić article. Someone else reverted it to the improved copy edited version, but there is no indication that NovaNova will change his or her pattern of counterproductive reverts, or will sign up for a Wikipedia account. Spylab 13:26, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

I looked at the Neo-Nazism talk page and there appears to be a long string of destructive reverts and false accusations of vandalism. It seems to be done by the same person, using different sock puppets. This pattern of destructive edits will likely continue for a long time if the article is not semi-protected. Spylab 14:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

I saw your message on the talk page. Thanks for that. The reason I thought NovaNova had no account is that the name appears as a red link. Spylab 14:09, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Actually, Saffron was first, then Banksia brownii, and now Banksia integrifolia. Hesperian 05:35, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, it has a taxobox, and Crocus sativus redirects there, so it is definitely about the plant as well as the plant product. Under WP:PLANTS convention, this is no longer considered kosher; there should be separate articles for the plant and the plant product. But that's a fairly new convention and there are still a lot of articles that need splitting. e.g. Maize/Zea mays, Coconut/Cocos nucifera, Rice/Oryza sativa and Oryza glaberrima etc. Hesperian 11:32, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

RE: WP:RFPP

I assume we're talking about blocking the IP, right? Anyway, I would agree that blocking the IP would be the best solution (especially since in one of his edit summaries he's make it clear he intents to continue reverting). It's a dynamic IP from the looks of it (on the 71.106.0.0/16 range), so blocking that could result in collateral damage. You could try blocking that range for 24 hours and see if he continues to revert after it expires (at which point protection would be necessary because we can't keep blocking such a large range). -- Steel 15:38, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

TOTSE and Live Prayer with Bill Keller

Hi. I noticed you put TOTSE under full protection which probably wasn't a bad idea. I'm wondering if the same logic would suggest the same protection on Live Prayer with Bill Keller which was part of the same vandalism campaign by the same anonymous and registered accounts. Currently Live Prayer with Bill Keller is only semi-protected. I suspect full protection of that page for a week or so until the apparent "feud" dies down will redirect the vandals attentions away from Wikipedia. Caper13 16:53, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

St George note verifying The Cardinal

Since starting this Wikipedia entry last year (2005) I am proud to say we now have contributions from lead singer of the band, the Cardinal, who was able to clarify and submit additional points as a source of info. Many thanks.

It is a shame, however, to see the Blood article suffering (like so many others) from wanton vandalism by editors, some even claiming to be moderators. Like 'Spylab' for instance, who doesnt actually seem to know anything at all about this band. How people can waste all thier time just trying to deface wikipedia is beyone me. I have no choice but to apply for protection for the page.Saintgeorge

the cardinal of the blood

i hope that you have been an objective choice to oversee the monitoring of what is going on here ... because believe me ... just as the blood are just now about to come back ... this debate is only just begining to take shape ...

i think the historical reference to how the blood came about is important ... it is important to demonstrate how the aesthetic style of a particular moment of popular cultural phenomenon changed my life and can change ... and does change ... the life of others ... the below moment in my life is just such an authentic reference ... the article directly below that ... is hopefully beneath the person who wrote it and i hope so for wikipedia's sake ...

‘The Who's live performance at [[Charlton Athletic] Football Club, in the early seventies, became a moment that changed my life. As I walked through the streets of Charlton, my home town, I heard the chorus Im free, and freedom tastes of reality resonating from The Valley where The Who were performing live on stage. At that point in my life I would argue that the religious-instruction that I was being formerly schooled with, and the method of brutality that the educators used, was forcing me down a pathway towards one-dimesional thought: fundamentalism. The Who's words, and music, encouraged me to think for myself and thereto I became a punk and thereafter The Blood. The Guiness Book of Records later identified this gig as the loudest rock concert ever recorded in history.’ The Cardinal.

ps. i want to help make this work.

thank you for helping me with this work ... i think i understand now ...

The Blood article

I, and at least one other editor has tried to deal with the person who keeps adding original research and vanity writing to The Blood article using an anonymous IP, but the person keeps coming back. This has been going on for a few months, and judging by the person's rambling nonsensical posts, he obviously just doesn't get it. Adding more warnings on his talk page will have absolutely no lasting effect. He is the singer of the band in the article, and he keeps posting long-winded philosophical rants that have nothing to do with the band. And now I realized I violated the 3RR rule today, so I can't continue to revert his posts. Yet he will continue to break the 3RR rule and other Wikipedia guidelines without any consequences. Please take a look at his writings in the article and on the talk page to get a clear picture. Spylab 14:51, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

He re-added some of the original research. I don't feel I should keep having to monitor that article, so I am adding an Original research tag and a citation request (which I think I added in the past). However, I do not feel that this is an appropriate longterm solution, since the article will likely to become filled up with more uncited so-called "official quotes" by the anonymous IP user, and will end up looking like a blog or personal website.Spylab 19:12, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Alright, I'll hold off on the reverts for awhile, but the person who keeps adding the original research is no newbie on Wikipedia. Those "official quotes" were added by an anonymous IP in July or August 2006, and the IP address of the person who started the article in May 2005 also starts with the number 81, as do many of the other IPs in the edit history.Spylab 13:35, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Details

A unified Yamato state may have coincided with large migration of Korea's Baekje people at the end of the fourth century. [3]

  • This source doesn't exist(The South Korean doesn't confirm material so. )
  • According to official material of Japanese Government Shinsen-shōjiroku (新撰姓氏録?), A lot of foreigners who are are Chinese. China had 163 clans. Baekje had 104 clans. Moreover, famous Klan like the Hata clan and the Takamuko clan, etc. was all Chinese. --KoreanShoriSenyou 09:52, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Most scholars believe that there were massive transmissions of technology and culture from Korea to Japan which is evidenced by material artifacts in tombs of both states in the Proto-Three Kingdoms of Korea and Kofun eras, and the later wave of Baekje immigrants to Yamato. This view was popularized in Japan by Egami Namio's theory of a powerful horse-riding race from the north who brought about the dramatic change from Jomon to Yayoi culture, [4] a revised version of which was advanced by Gari Ledyard [5]

  • Please write scholar's name.
  • The history study of present Japan points out a strong relation to Yangtze River in China. (It is explained with the bronze mirror. )
  • Egami Namio's theory assumes the immigrant from a Mongolian area. Why does Baekje relate?

In Emperor Ojin's reign, many immigrants were recorded to be sent from the Korean kingdom of Baekje for the introduction of various continental culture. In Emperor Kimmei's reign, according to the Nihongi, Soga no Iname assigned a Korean in charge of taxes levied on shipments. The introduction of Chinese writing to Yamato was one Baekje's most important gifts to the court.[1]

  • The source doesn't exist.
  • This episode doesn't exist in Nihonshoki. Please specify the place if it exists.
  • The Yamato court has used the Chinese writing since the fourth century. When a diplomatic envoy was sent to China, they submitted the document of the Chinese writing.

Korean influence on Japanese laws is also attributed to the fact that Korean immigrants were on committees that drew up law codes. Eight of the 19 members of the committee drafting the Taiho Code were from Korean immigrant families while none were from China proper. Further, idea of local administrative districts and the tribute tax are based on Korean models.

It is a complete lie.

  • 19 members did not have Korean's name.
  • 19 members had Chinese. (続守言 and 薩弘恪)
  • The model of Japnese laws(Ritsuryo) is Chinese Tang Dynasty.
  • Ritsuryo system is a topic in the Asuka Period.

Among the many Korean imigrants who settled in Japan beginning in the 4th century, some came to be the progenitors of Japanese clans. According to Nihongi, the oldest record of Silla immigrant is Amenohiboko, a legendary prince of Silla who settled to Japan at the era of Emperor Suinin, perhaps around 3rd or 4th century. Ironically, Amenohiboko is described in Nihongi as a maternal ancestor of Empress Jingū whose controversial legend says that she conquered Silla. On the other hand, Korean immigrants also include the Baekje royal family. King Muryeong of Baekje was born in Japan in 462, and left a son who settled there. In Emperor Ojin's reign, Geunchogo of Baekje dedicated a lot of treasures and scholars to the Japanese emperor. [2] The elements of Chinese culture introduced to Yamato Imperial Court are very important. [3]

  • Please explain the reason why the South Korean desperately deletes this part.

Korean immigrants played an important role in introducing Chinese civilization to early Japan.[6]. Not only are there many material objects from China and Korea that were exported to Japan such as bronze mirrors, iron, and pottery. Ceramic manufacturing in kilns and horse-riding are two important technologies transmitted to Japan by Korean immigrants.[4]

  • The source doesn't exist.
  • The bronze mirror(三角縁神獣鏡) has not been discovered from a Korean peninsula though is discovered from Yangtze River.
  • Please explain the reason to emphasize a Korean peninsula disregarding the relation between ancient Japan and China.

Iron working technology was introduced into Japan from Korea around 300. Korea was an important source of iron ingots to Japan and the Koreans were famous for the iron-working skills in that time period.[5] Korean paintings in Goguryeo tombs had important influences in Japan.[6] Decorated tombs and painted tumuli which date from the fifth century and later found in Japan are generally accepted as Korean exports to Japan. The Takamatsuzuka Tomb even has paintings of woman dressed in distinctive Korean pleated skirts.[7]

  • The source doesn't exist. [7]

These "Koreanisms" of written Chinese are also found on the Eta Funayama Sword dated to about the fifth century. [8]

  • There is no Koreanisms in this source.

The horse is one of the treasures given by the king of Silla to Jingu of Japan according to the record of Nihonshoki.[9]

  • Falsification of source
  • The horse is one of the treasures presented when the king of Silla surrenders to Jingu of Japan

the Chinese emperor appointed his king of Yamato to also be ruler of Silla, Baekje, and the Gaya confederacy.[10] According to the Book of Sui, Silla and Baekje needed the power of Yamato Japan.[11] According to the Samguk Sagi (Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms), Baekje and Silla sent their princes as hostages to the Yamato court to ensure military support; King Asin of Baekje sent his son Jeonji in 397[12] and King Silseong of Silla sent his son Misaheun in 402.[13]

  • Please explain the reason to delete an original source.

Samguk Sagi (Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms) and Samguk Yusa (Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms), both written in the Goryeo period of Korea, identify Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla as highly independent and centralized states in comparison to the fledgling Yamato court. They also cite the great deal of Korean culture that was adpted by Wa, which in turn had been adopted by the Three Kingdoms from China.

  • Explain the reason to delete the history material of China and the reason to use material in the counterfeit.
