Gnathology
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gnathology is the science of occlusion of the jaw and all systems that make it function. It includes histology, pathology, physiology, anatomy, dental materials, and advanced restorative treatment. Because it is not part of dental school training, most is learned by participating in 'study clubs" with mentors with much experience. Gnathology is doing extremely accurate dentistry, verifying the work as it progresses, applying all well founded gnathological priniciples, and rechecking the work continually. Trifles make perfection and perfection is no trifle. Gnathiological trained dentists attempt the harder right rather than the easier wrong.
