Glyn Styler

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glyn Styler is a vocalist in the tradition of Scott Walker. Statements of his background lean towards an unstable marriage, two kids, and a string of stays in mental health facilities. His music comes across as a genuine cathartic expression. He has completed LP called “Live at the Mermaid Lounge”, which is a friend’s studio with friend as the audience that are “live” on the record. He runs through some standards and some of his own material on the album. He also completed an EP [both in 1997 & on Atavistic Records in Chicago] with a hero of his own, Lydia Lunch who duets with him on the title track “The Desperate Ones”, a Jacques Brel cover. This outing also continues an instrumental version of the title track and the drum machine flavored “Won’t Stop Loving You”.
