From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glynn Pardoe was a English football left back who played for Manchester City F.C. between 1961 and 1974. He became the clubs youngest ever player when he made his debut in April 1962 against Birmingham City F.C. in a League Cup game. He also won 4 England under 23 caps. In total he played for the blue team 304 times scoring 17 goals. His career was cut short when he suffered a severe leg injury, caused alledgedly by George Best in a Manchester derby.

The injury to Pardoe resulted in United fans singing for years afterwards: 'Glynn Pardoe/Glynn Pardoe/Besty broke his leg you know/with a nic-nac-paddy-whack/give his doc a phone/if your city fuck off home.'
