Glyn Harman

Glyn Harman (born 2 November 1956) is a British mathematician. He is known for proving the following result.

Theorem For all x > 0 and t > t(x), there is a prime p ≡ 3 (mod 4) with tp ≤ (1 + x)t.

Harman is currently a professor at Royal Holloway, University of London. He has been a professor at several universities including Cardiff University. He has also written a book entitled Metric Number Theory. He is one of the best in the world at prime number theory and at the moment is writing a second book.

Harman has a wife and three sons (Matthew, Jonathan, Christopher) and lives in Wokingham, Berkshire.
