[edit] History

GLUA was founded in 2001 by some students of Computers and Telematics Engineering in their 3rd year. They felt the need to promote GNU/Linux to their department and university colleagues. GLUA started by having www server that hosted several GNU/Linux information and a ftp server mirroring the most well known Linux distros at time being.

The first public activities promoted by GLUA were mainly LIPs. By 2002 GLUA got pretty well known inside the University and GLUA expanded by hosting Linux related mailing list where the GLUA member tried to address the community doubts about GNU/Linux in more interactive way. Later the mailing list was migrated to a forum, that still exists in GLUA Forum.
