This article was written by a new user. (I track the new users I welcome for a few days afterwards).

No explanation is being given as to why it should be deleted. A conference attracting 10,000 visitors from 40 countries probably deserves an article or at least more thoughtful consideration than an unexplained speed deletion.

I suggest coaching the writer on what Wikipedia's looking for (i.e., notability and something that doesn't read like such an advertisement). We need all the qualified, knowledgeable contributors we can get.
