[edit] Anomalies off Antarctica?

Is there any explanation for the rather dramatic paired temperature anomalies in the area of the Weddell Sea? Something doesn't seem 'right' about it - two regions adjacent to each other, with diametrically opposed temperature anomalies - and strong anomalies at that, the cooler anomalies are the largest on the map. I am not aware of any specific commentary addressed to that issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are data quality issues in that area. Dragons flight 20:52, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
