Glover's Rock

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glover's Rock is a large granite glacial erratic in Pelham Bay Park, Bronx, New York.

The giant rock has a bronze plaque commemorating the American Revolutionary War Battle of Pell's Point. Legend and History has it that Colonel John Glover stood on the rock and watched the British forces land during the battle. There is currently a salt water marsh and meadow near the rock which is believed to be the same one described by Washington.
