Gloucester Road, London

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gloucester Road (B325) (pronounced [ˈglɒstə]) is a street in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea of London. It runs north-south between Kensington Road (at which point it is known as Palace Gate) and Old Brompton Road at the south end. At its intersection with Cromwell Road is Gloucester Road tube station, close to which there are several public houses, eating establishments, and a good many hotels.

The area is one of the more affluent parts of London boasting some very exclusive and expensive residential parts. It is also the residence of the fictional barrister Horace Rumpole of John Mortimer's Rumpole of the Bailey series of short stories.
