Glorystar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
GloryStar Satellite Systems is a vendor of satellite television equipment oriented towards viewers of satellite-delivered Christian broadcast ministries. The systems are configured by GloryStar to receive Christian broadcasters from Ku-band satellites Intelsat Americas 5 (97° W) and AMC-4 (101° W). Satellite AV, LLC, operator of the GloryStar and AdventistSat brand names, developed a single fixed dish solution for simultaneous reception of IA-5 and AMC-4. The company also provides uplink support for broadcasters using the AMC-4 and IA-5 satellites.

[edit] Technology
To receive all of these broadcast ministries requires reception of signals from two medium-powered Ku-band satellites spaced 4-degrees apart. To meet this requirement SatelliteAV designed a multi-LNBF bracket, a miniature LNBF, and a miniature Diseqc switch. This configuration allows for reception of the two satellites on one Ku-band dish. The system is similar to the 3.8-degree StarChoice multi-LNBF bracket but is designed instead for the 4-degree spacing between the IA-5 and AMC-4 satellites that carry most of the broadcast ministries of interest to GloryStar's customers.
SatelliteAV also manufactures MPEG-2 DVB-S satellite receivers, satellite dish antennas and LNBFs under the GeoSatPro brand name.
