Globosat

Globosat is a multichannel cable and satellite TV service in Brazil, created in 1991, after the creation of cable and satellite TV services. It also distributes one channel in Portugal.

In 1993, Globosat split its content generation and distribution businesses. Cable TV sales and distribution was assigned to Net Brasil, which was also responsible for installing cable networks in selected cities. Content production and programming remained with Globosat, renamed to Globosat Programadora.

Universal Channel (joint venture with NBC Universal) : movies and series, mostly distributes content from Universal Studios, formerly USA Network
Telecine : five movie networks
- Telecine Premium (formerly Telecine, Telecine 1) : major blockbuster releases
- Telecine Action (formerly Telecine 2) : action and adventure films
- Telecine Emotion (formerly Telecine 3) : drama, comedy and family films
- Telecine Pipoca (formerly Telecine 4, Telecine Happy) : blockbusters and other films dubbed in Portuguese (originally oriented to comedy and family movies, those moved to Telecine Emotion)
- Telecine Cult (formerly Telecine 5, Telecine Classic) : world, art films (originally oriented to classic film, mostly in black-and-white, moved to the other Telecine networks)
Canal Brasil (joint venture with Brazilian partners) : Brazilian movies
Premiere Futebol Clube (pay-per-view, formerly Premiere Esportes) : soccer, holds the pay-per-view rights to the Campeonato Brasileiro
Premiere Shows (pay-per-view) : music concerts, TV Globo series and telenovelas
Premiere Combate (pay-per-view) : holds the rights to the Ultimate Fighting Championship
SexyHot (pay-per-view) : adult movies
ForMan (pay-per-view) : gay adult movies
