TNT, one of the world’s largest mail, express and logistics companies created GlobalCollect to add value to its distribution services in 1994, enabling international publishers to print and send invoices worldwide as well as to accept local payments in local currencies. GlobalCollect quickly developed a sharp expertise and established a unique worldwide banking network ultimately providing these customers the possibility to outsource their entire collection and reconciliation process.

In a short time period, GlobalCollect’s services interested other industries practicing distant sales, far beyond TNT initial client base. The success of GlobalCollect led to the creation in 2000 of its own entity, GlobalCollect BV.

Willing to answer the growing need for e-commerce payment services, GlobalCollect launched its online payment platform WebCollect in 2001, making it possible for Internet shops to accept the most popular local payment methods worldwide online, and through a single technical and administrative interface.

For Call Centres, GlobalCollect developed a specific interface to its online payment platform in 2003, enabling an online secured processing of payments accepted by phone.
