Talk:Glitter

- I believe whether or not one thinks 'glitter is also associated with the gay community' is not germane to the topic. Afterall many things could be seen as associated with homosexuals, yet noting so in the topic would be inappropriate. e.g. should a topic like dance include this line? --Sgstarling 09:30, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

- Well, disco and glam rock briefly mention their connections to gay culture. Glitter is often considered part of gay camp, tends to be used by drag queens. Frankly, when I think "fabulous", glitter comes quickly to mind. Out of curiosity, were you User 24.225.138.127? -Tim Rhymeless (Er...let's shimmy) 09:47, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- I feel that the important* point is: When you think "glitter", does "fabulous" or "gay" come to mind? boffy_b 17:52, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

- *As important as an article on glitter can be.

- No, I was not that IP you listed. I pretty much started contributions after I joined. As to glitter and gays, I still believe it's inappropriate in these topics. Perhaps under a 'Things associated with gays' topic would be better. Even you don't associate glitter with all gays, just "drag queens". Please consider what would happen if such lines as 'Topic X is associated with Group Y Type People' were inserted all over wikipedia!--Sgstarling 09:57, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- I think, to a certain extent, it would improve Wikipedia. Social associations are very important in defining a subject. -Tim Rhymeless (Er...let's shimmy) 08:18, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

This article needs to be edited to remove the content which associates glitter with homosexuals, especially the line which states that glitter is commonly used by "old gay men." These connections are unfair and unfounded.
