Located in a significant artistic centre of the city, on Queen St W, the Gladstone has become a hub of creative activity. Under the 2005 renovation by Eberhard Zeidler, the architect who designed the Eaton's Centre, 37 of the 59 rooms were individually designed by local artists to give the hotel a diversity of aesthetic themes. Meanwhile, the common spaces of the hotel are used for other artistic and social events, boasting exhibition space for art shows, working studios, and hosting live music, karaoke and art classes. The Gladstone Hotel regularly serves as a shooting location for film, T.V., and videos.
