Gix

Gix is a character from the trading card game Magic: The Gathering.
After Yawgmoth, the Ineffable, was banished by the Thran he was able to return in order to treat Glacian, the genius of Halcyon, who was stabbed with an imperfect powerstone by the Untouchable named Gix. Gix became a servant of Yawgmoth after the latter took hold of Phyrexia. Eventually, the human Gix was upgraded with Phyrexian technology and lost his humanity in exchange for a demonic appearance, with powers to match.
The war between Urza and Mishra was the catalyst for release of the Phyrexians. After the powerstone sealing the rift to Phyrexia was broken, Gix would become aware of the brothers. When Mishra tried to control the dragon engines of Phyrexia, he inadvertently led Gix to Dominaria. Gix would bide his time, using his Brotherhood of the Gix to spy on both the brothers, eventually corrupting Mishra. At the end of the Brothers' War, Gix was forced to flee back to Phyrexia to escape the sylex blast. Displeased at his failure to secure Dominaria, the Ineffable ordered Gix's incarceration in the Seventh Circle.
Three thousand years later, Gix was given a second chance to take Dominaria for Phyrexia, to defeat its mad protector, the planeswalker Urza. In a final battle at the caverns of Koilos, Gix would have the upper hand on Urza, until Xantcha, the Phyrexian newt, and Ratepe, Mishra's lookalike, sacrificed themselves to distract Gix long enough for Urza to annihilate the Phyrexian demon.
