Giro di Lombardia 2006

The 2006 edition of the Giro di Lombardia cycle race will take place on October 14, 2006, in and around the Italian region of Lombardy. This race marks the end of the UCI ProTour 2006 calendar. It was won by World Champion Paolo Bettini who dedicated the victory to his brother who had recently died.
Following the race the UCI ProTour 2006 was officially concluded with Alejandro Valverde taking the overall title and setting a new record for most ProTour points amassed in one season.
