  • "Ginger hair" is a term used to describe a light reddish-brown or orangish hair color. By extension, "ginger" can also refer to red hair:
    • A ginger is also a slang term for (in the UK sometimes pronounced /giŋə/ rather than /dʒindʒə/) someone with red hair. Also, sometimes it is seen as a term of disparagement for someone with red hair.
    • Ginger in Cockney rhyming slang means queer, as in homosexual (from ginger beer).
    • In an episode of South Park entitled Ginger Kids, Eric Cartman describes "Gingers" as a people with red hair, light skin, and freckles.
