User:Giano II/Giano's views on Arbcom elections and candidates.
This is a page to make notes on my thoughts of the various Arbcom candidates - as I research them and their contributions. If anyone wishes to comment please do so on the talk page, as I don't wish my own thoughts and views to be confused.
I am looking for candidates who are totally honest, transparent and upfront even if I don't happen to agree with them. The self serving and devious on an ego trip will not obtain my support

[edit] Alex Bakharev
- Don't know thisRussian editor. We have quite a few Russians about the encyclopedia now, doing amazing work. There needs to be one on the Arbcom as they are under represented.
- Thinks the decision of the Giano case was "Still I think the process was reasonably transparent and the decision was a fair reflections of community sentiments and the basic wikipedia principles"
- But a healthy, if not refreshing, response to my question [1]

[edit] Daniel.Bryant
- Australian - good
- Plays cricket - even better
- However edits like this and this [2] [3] amused me at the time, but would I vote for the man who made them - is he in the mould of Kelly Martin. The cricket though is redeeming - I shall think on
[edit] Flcelloguy
- Sound frightened of committing himself in his answers - needs to jump into the water and swim
[edit] FloNight

- Used to be a nurse, so probably quite intelligent and kind.
- Nurses generally efficient and organized, and sensible.
- Had possitive dealings with Flo in the past.
- Informative but evasive answer [4]
[edit] freakofnurture
- Seems to have completely lost the plot over what the Giano case was about and who was involved and why. Could be forgiven in an ordinary editor - not a good sign for a prospective Arbcom member.
[edit] Geogre

- I can agree with that [5]

[edit] Kirill Lokshin
- First editing Wikipedia in June 2005.
- Makes normally intelligent objections on FAC page
[edit] Kylu

- Admits taking advice from IRC before taking Admin related decisions.
- Seems to be considered something of an IRC expert [7]
[edit] Merovingian
- Conservative - worrying in one so young
- Roman Catholic - good
- Anime - bad
- Wears a funny hat - obviously has a sense of humour, with that hat he needs it.
- looks very worried - something to do with being 18 no doubt
- Wikipedian since: November 8, 2003 - good has staying power
- [8] I like that answer. Kid has a brain.

[edit] MONGO

- Very quick and observant
- But not quick enough [9] knows quite well what is goung on but wants a foot in both camps. Have to jump one way or the other eventually Mongo!

[edit] Sam Blanning
- Has said "I've never used it, or any Wikipedia IRC channel, and I would continue not to do so as an Arbitrator unless something specifically required it." - excellent
[edit] Shell Kinney
[edit] The prophet wizard of the crayon cake
- Obviously has a sense of humour!
[edit] UninvitedCompany
[edit] Wildthing61476
[edit] Paul August
Seems OK - no histories of conflict and antagonism.
