Giant spider
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the Dungeons and Dragons fantasy role-playing game, giant spiders are vermin, quite simply enormous versions of regular spiders. Existing in various types, there is no way to singularly describe their appearance; think of various types of spiders only enlarged to be as large as a dog to as large as a house. Giant versions of tarantulas exist, as do black widows, spitters, spinners, web slingers, jumpers, and all manner of others. Their appearances, habits and environments all vary greatly.
Giant spiders can attack in a variety of ways, typically whatever way their normal counterparts can. Some spin huge webs which everything from prey to a foolhardy adventurer can stumble into, while others spit a deadly poison. Some can spin webs, some cant; some can walk on walls and ceilings, some can't. Despite the differences between the types of Giant spider, all are formiddable opponents, and certainly not foes for an arachnophobic person to face.
Giant spiders cannot talk.
Though alignments vary, the majority of them seem to be either neutral, or neutral evil.
