Paulo César da Silva (born July 21, 1963 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, Giant Silva.

[edit] Career

Very much like El Gigante/Giant Gonzales years earlier, Silva was originally an amateur basketball player. He came to WWE on the May 25, 1998 episode of Raw is War. He may be best remembered for his stint as "Giant Silva", a member of the "Oddities" stable. He also competed for CMLL in Mexico as Gigante Silva. Silva has also been paired with Dalip Singh as a tag team in All Japan Pro Wrestling.

Silva also competes in PRIDE Fighting Championships, a mixed martial arts organization based in Japan. Silva currently has an MMA record of 1 win and 6 losses, with most of those losses by knockout. All of his opponents have been at least 9 inches shorter than him, 4 being more than a foot shorter (he's even been defeated by junior heavyweight Takashi Sugiura). Silva at one time did train with members of the Gracie family, most notably Ricardo Gracie.
