Arctodus simus (Cope, 1897) |
The Giant Short-Faced Bear (Arctodus simus) is an extinct species of bear that lived in prehistoric North America from about 800,000 to 12,500 years ago.
Arctodus Simus was the largest mammal carnivore to live on the North American continent. This giant bear was up to 50% larger than the largest living bears.
