I've deprodded this article because it's clear that the subject had a significant role in founding Kashmir University, although most of the sources are likely to be pre-internet. There's also a mention here [1] of a connection with Sheikh Abdullah - "Abdullah’s one-time mentor and advisor Ghulam Ahmed Ashai, whom he had appointed Registrar of the University". --Mereda 08:18, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
