"Ghetto" is the title of a 2005 single by R&B singer Akon. It reached number ninety-two on the Billboard Hot 100, and is a cut off Akon's debut album, Trouble. There are 2 remixes of this song, one International Remix featuring Ali B & Yes R and the other remix featuring 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G.. The single was not released outside the US.
The song's lyrics describe the cycle of poverty experienced by those living in poor, inner city areas. Additionally, it describes the physical and psychological oppression with which these residents must deal on a regular basis.
