Talk:Gezelligheid

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I do not know whether a difficult to translate popular word in Dutch language deserves its own article. Are we going to add all difficult to translate from all languages on the planet to the English Wikipedia Andries 16:57, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

|Well, the way I undestand, it's not jsut a word, but an important concept in Dutch culture. Perhaps it could be merged into some Dutch culture article, but I still consider it a usefull page.

I think this page is significant deserves to stand in its own right, Gezelligheid is considered to be an important part of the formation of the atmosphere, atitude and standard of living in Amsterdam. If you go to Amsterdam there are leaflets which have text about the word gezellig which is often copied and mentions "A two-hour leisurely meal with friends is quite gezellig. Eating a Big Mac on your lap in the car is not." --Aimaz 14:15, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
