Geula Cohen

Geula Cohen (גאולה כהן), born 25 December 1925 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli politician. Cohen was active in Israel's War of Independence as a radio announcer for LEHI, a right-wing pro-independence militia. She was originally a member of the Herut: The National Movement, which merged with two other parties to become the Likud Party in 1972. In 1979, Cohen helped found the nationalist Tehiya Party. In 1992, she returned to the Likud. Cohen remains active in right-wing politics, voicing disagreement with her son her son, Knesset member Tzachi Hanegbi of the Kadima Party for his support of the Gaza disengagement in 2005.
