IMDb profile

Getting Lucky is a low-budget feature film by Michael Paul Girard. The film stars Steven Cooke as Bill Higgins, a high school senior who discovers an alcoholic leprechaun in a beer bottle who must grant him ‘three’ wishes before he is allowed to return to Ireland. The leprechaun, named Lepkey, screws up a few of the wishes on account of his alcoholism having diminished his magic skills.

Most people who have seen this movie, but do not know the title, may remember an unforgettable scene in which the leprechaun accidentally shrinks Bill, who consequently finds himself ensnared in the pubic hairs of his love interest, Krissi. Krissi ends up having an orgasm during class as Bill struggles to free himself.

This movie features a catchy and hilariously tongue-in-cheek soundtrack written by Girard and Miriam Cutler.

[edit] Additional information

  • If viewers are careful to notice, the closing credits include several ficticious names made of play on words with various sexual connotations.
  • The working title of this film was Wish Me Luck, and a remake (using this working title) with a slightly altered storyline was released in 1995.
  • Getting Lucky can often be found on eBay in VHS format and occasionally in DVD PAL format (from Australia), which plays on all computers and some DVD players. A German dubbed version of the film is also available on eBay’s German site.
