Get Gorgeous

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Get Gorgeous was a beauty contest/talent search run by one of India's top music channels, Channel [V], in 2004. The show's mission was to find new faces, seeking to discover the long-hidden beauty of the girl-next-door. Their quest was powered by one of the world’s leading modelling agencies. Channel [v] traversed the country searching through thousands of aspirants.

Six thousand entries were received and after careful consideration, 16 finalists were taken to Goa for the final selection. The 16 lucky girls got the chance of a lifetime to interact with the best from the fashion industry. The judges included ace designers Hemant Trivedi and Aparna Chandra, make-up artists Ambika Pillai, choreographers Tanya and Aparna Behl, fitness guru Mickey Mehta and ace lensman Sameer Parekh. The judges’ task was undoubtedly difficult, but by the end of the year, four new faces were ready to live their Cinderella story.

Their entry into the modelling world was nothing short of spectacular – walking the ramp for designer Suneet Verma at the Milan Fashion Week.

The success of Get Gorgeous prompted Channel [V] to revive it in 2005 as Get Gorgeous II.
