[edit] Merge?

Yes, seems to me that this was created by folks who didn't realize there was an article at Koolie.

I vote merge, if we can maintain civility. 02:18, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

We know of the koolie page. We disagree with the ethics of breeding behind the 'koolie' as inappropriate dogs have been used for breeding purposes. It was those who made the 'koolie' page who suggested making one for the Coolie. Those associated with the Coolie wish to have no connection with the 'koolie' and those who breed them.Artorius 07:32, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Please be kind enough to indent using colons so that comments can be read more easily. I do not read anything in this article that indicates that this is a different dog breed. If differing factions/differences in philosphy/whatever, surely one article with explanations would suffice?

Any additions made to the 'koolie' page were deleted unless they were added by a member of the Koolie Club. Many of the dogs registered with the KCA are from known pound dogs. This has been admitted by the person who bred them. This page was made by those who care about the future of the breed and by using those dogs('koolie') it is detrimental to the 'coolie' breed. Perhaps you should discuss a merge with those who created the 'koolie' page and see what their answer is.Artorius 05:21, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

It would be greatly appeciated if this article could remain as it is, there are two complete different ideas on the types of dogs and the future for the breed we like to call the Coolie and I think it is important for readers to be able to make their own decisions. As said earlier I am sure the KCA and original posters of the Koolie page would not want it merged - this page was created because of the animoisty and carrying on on the Koolie page." Thank you
This page was created originaly by people declaring their breed was a "German Coolie", which was fairly distinctive from the "Koolie", but at some time the page was change to "Coolie" creating a grey area. I would think considering the extreme differences of opion that infact this page should be returned to German Coolie as just those posting in this discussion are still quite argumentative indicating the disagreements prior will only continue meaning the real information will suffer and degenerateCeasia 13:12, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
The German Coolie and the Australian Koolie are two separate breeds and should not be considered or confused as the same. It's not a matter of one breed being known by two different names, these dogs are separate breeds. The German Coolie is the original breed that has been cared for and protected for many years by stockmen and lovers of the breed. The Australian Koolie is a newly created breed made up of many different breeds where some of the breeds are known and some are not. It would be a travasty to confuse the two.

There appears to be many things that aren't going right between these articles. No one owns an article, if someone doesn't want their work butchered, they shouldn't write anything here, and there seems to be a large amount of POV pushing going on. While I've only had a brief time to look at what's going on here, I think there needs to be a mediator to come in and work towards a proper solution to this. The Koolie page even has the same alternate names of the dog. I'd say merge unless each article can be made more distinct. Radagast83 03:13, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
