Gertrud (film)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gertrud is a 1964 film directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer, based on a play by Hjalmar Söderberg. It was his final film. It was Dreyer's most polarizing film. It furthered his sound style with beautifully framed shots and very long takes, including a 9 minute, 56 take of Gerturd and her ex-lover, Gabriel, talking about their pasts.
