Germknödel is an Austrian sweet bread of sorts. It's roundish in shape with a plum jam filling. It is served steamed with either poppy, sugar and vanilla sauce or with poppy, sugar and melted butter.

The word Germknödel can be translated as yeast dumpling. It is called like that because it consists of yeast dough.
