German Londoño
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
German Londoño is a Colombian artist from Medellín. He is perhaps after Fernando Botero the most well-known of Colombian contemporary artists. He is mostly known as a painter but recently has begun sculpting. His flair and youthful approach sets him apart from the older Botero. His exhibits have appeared in Paris and New York.
Londoño's upbringing and indigent homeland are reflected in his paintings. One of Londoño's masterpieces is a sketch called "Looking at the Stars".
Though he is an international artist, he has kept his home in Colombia.
He greatly enjoyed his time painting and reflecting at University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was a visiting artist.
